I just met you, this is crazy..hey my baby, come soon maybe?

Call me baby hungry, baby crazy, or just plain crazy..I don't care because I know I'm baby crazy these days. It's a darn good thing I have my own on my way or my neighbors would have to always keep their door locked and their blinds closed. Since bringing Olivia home I go to work with the mind set that there is a baby at home (or close by) that I could be playing with and I need to be off work asap. I'm absurd, I know.

Well the day she came home my husby and I made a cute little (last minute) sign for the Scott's newest addition and decorated their door. Like so..

I think they liked it. We did at least :)

We went over to there to play with the little cutie patootie last night. She was fast asleep...

So I picked her up. (With permission of course! Sheesh) But she stayed asleep. Look at the chins! Adorable!

As if I needed more of a reason to fall more in love with Emmett....this just melts my heart every time I see him hold a baby <3

What's in a name?

I know how this looks, a tad ridiculous. But baby needs a name and Mamma needs something to do when not at work. Therefore a trip to the library resulted in this. I want something unique, but not TOO unique, kind of shorter and it has to have a nickname. Nothing too feminine but definitely nothing masculine. It needs a good meaning. Nothing like, "tree". Though trees are nice and big and strong and..well, lets just stay away from plants and such shall we? I want something like...Danica. It means the morning star, you can shorten it to a less girly name like Dani... But that one is taken. Or Ellery....that too is taken. Hmm.. Kiana? Op, nope, that's taken too. Problem with marrying into a HUGE family is when I think of a name I like, I realize it's already being used. Good thing we jumped on this baby band wagon when we did or there would be no names left! Ha, I kid. But big family equals a problem-o picking a name-o.  We have a small list already and won't settle on anything till baby girl is born. Open to suggestions. Have at it.

And by the way...for the longest time I felt I was just another number in the baby having world. Everyone and their mom (this is true I have a friend who's mom just had another baby) is having littles. But it's come to the point that almost all of them have already had their littles. Now I'm a lonely number just wanting to hold my own babe! Is that too much to ask?

Good thing our condo is officially sold and we are officially moving next month. Also it's a mighty good thing next month is going to be so incredibly jam packed with the 4th of July, a family reunion in ID, a trip to CA, family coming to visit and stay with us, our last ultra sound(!) and again moving...hopefully July can whiz by and I'll then only have 2 months till our nameless (for now) baby girl gets here!!

It's rainin' babies!

This weekend I decided to start a wee project I found on Pinterest, of course.  I'm having two baby showers, one in California and one in Utah. I'm pretty sure I'll have more people coming to the Utah one so I figured doing some invites for friends and family in Ca wouldn't be so bad since there won't be too many to make.

I started with this...

 And ended up with this...

I think they turned out pretty cute!

My ever so helpful Husby helped me out on the sewing machine haha I'm stubborn and can get frustrated when I can't do something the first time so he learned for me..I'm very grateful for his willingness to make my life easier. He's a keeper!

In other news....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OLIVIA JUNE SCOTT!!
She was born to our dear friends and neighbors today (finally) after 3 hours, oh did I say hours? I meant days of labor. But she made it, she's here and we can't wait to meet the little babe.

3 months and counting for Baby Fletchette to arrive.

The latest lately

The latest lately...

Well for one, we had a Dr's appt yesterday. Gained 8lbs. Yes, 8. Yikes is right. BUT, it's the 1st I've gained since being pregnant. Wooo.

We also signed a lease for a 2 bdrm basement apartment. Excited. We move the end of July. It is so cute and we'll be paying barely anything more than what we are already paying but it includes all utilities. Done. Kayla and Cory...we will still be friends. Sorry :( We didn't plan this. Promise!

Since deciding to move we put our apt up on craigslist. We had a couple come look yesterday, one today, we have four people tomorrow, five people friday and one (so far) Sat. Holy Shmokes. This place better sell soon.

Camping..

Well we decided to go camping and that we would leave Thurs. night (last week). We did in fact leave Thurs night, only to drive around for 3 1/2 hrs and then go back home for the night. We couldn't find a good spot and weren't too sure about driving 2 hours away to maybe find a spot somewhere else. So the next morning, super early, we set out for a place we were at just the night before. Ugh. But it was worth it. We were right along side a river so Emmett got to build dams and I got to wade and sun tan :)
We stayed 2 nights/3 days. Emmett's sister, Andrea came and stayed a night with us too. She was going to come Fri afternoon and after about 10pm we gave up that she was coming anymore. (We had no cell service so she couldn't call us) Just as we were putting out the fire and climbing into our tent I hear Emmett say, "I think Andrea just pulled up." Sure enough it was her. So we helped her set up her tent and we went to bed. But she got to stay most the next day with us and build dams :)

Now the most exciting part. Pictures! We had lots of stuff happen, exciting things and what not. But it would take me far too long to put it all on here. So here were some of the best parts. Enjoy.

Just on the drive to the camp we came across lots of wild life!
Hot dogs with baked grillin' beans! Took me forever to get my dog perfect and then..
I dropped mine into the ashes. Darn my luck.
Cows actually came right through camp! And they were herded by a real cowboy and his trusty cattle herding dogs!

Emmet played, I watched and sunburned..

My "pool" for the weekend..

This adventure was my kind of "last hoorah" before baby comes. I wouldn't be sleeping in a tent if I were anymore preggo. That's for sure. We brought an air mattress but never blew it up. Bad idea. I still have a back ache that I think is never going to go away.
My husby knows how to grill! This was by far the BEST BBQ Chicken I've ever ever had. He smoked it with hickory wood chips and then drenched them in hickory sauce. Mmm I'm drooling all over again. I also cut up some green bell pepper, spiced those bad boys up and added some onions. Put those on the fire and they came out so great! Along with out foil baked potatoes :)
We had a huge watermelon that was too big for a cooler but needed to be, well, cool. So we stuck it in the river for a couple hours and it was perfectttt.
We had lots of great meals on this trip. Blueberry pancakes, sausage and egg muffins, delicious cheeseburgers...P.S, a cast iron skillet would probably work much better for cooking eggs, bacon and sausage that cookie sheets. Just sayin. But it all still turned out very yummy!
Ok so this disgusting thing we thought was a humming bird it was so big when we saw it. Then it attacked Emmett and he hit it with the bbq tongs. Yuck. It seemed knocked out for a min and then tried to fly but couldn't. I felt bad he was suffering so Husby "took care of it" Anyways..he was huge, as you can see.

I love this man dearly. I love our adventures. I love our hugs. I love us together <3
I'm excited for all the many new adventures we will be having. Especially our biggest one. Our little girl!

To move or not to move

Here's the dealio:

An opportunity has presented itself just yesterday and it most definitely came out of no where for us. When we were first looking for a place to live, once we were getting married, we really liked this basement apartment our friends lived in. At the time they were planning on moving and so we were going to take over their contract. Well, things happen and they weren't moving any more. So we found ourselves a cute little place near campus and close to everything we need. It's a one bedroom though and now with a baby on the way and our friends' contract back up for grabs we find ourselves weighing out the pros and cons of what we should do.

It would be a sudden move because they are leaving in a month or less. We would have to find someone to take over our contract and it's a little farther away from campus when I have work and Emmett has work and school to worry about getting to with only one car. BUT, it's a 2 bdrm, decent size, has a nice back yard, utilities are all included in the rent which is only a little more than we are paying now...man, as soon as I was feeling like we could make it work in our humble abode. Not complaining though what so ever! And Emmett seems pretty excited about it.
We are going to go take a look at the place tonight since we haven't seen it in a while. I'm excited! I just hope we can make the right decision in such a short time span.

Also as of lately..

The Mr. and I went camping this weekend and it was not lacking any adventure or surprises! I'll have pictures up and more details soon :) Stay classy. Hope all the papas and papas to be had a wonderful fathers day!

What happens at DI, doesn't always stay there

I realize I just posted yesterday buttt...

I went to DI yesterday, (it was a gold mine!), it's a big time thrift store here in Provo, to drop off some old bowls and plates we never use. No problem so far. Well then I go inside and am merely browsing when I see this lady with the cutest backpack EVER in hand! I over heard her talking to her young, clearly out of style daughter about the cute pack. Her daughter said she did not like it and was trying to convince her mom to not get it. I instantly became a creepy stalker. No joke. I stood around looking at my phone and clothes while trying  to keep them within view all the way up until the moment they checked out and left the store. She ended up buying it. I was hoping that she would put it back or give it to the cashier but no. She did not and I was sad. I was lucky enough to find the EXACT same one online! But not so lucky that it cost $74!! I bet the one at DI was $6...foo.

Not to make me sound more like a creeper buttt.....I also have been on the hunt for a nice rocking chair. Sort of like this one..
I happened to find one at DI yesterday too...just like this one. Prime condition, green and white and only...are you ready? $30!!! Holy shmokes. There were a couple others next to it but they were old and when I sat in them I felt that I would shortly be on the floor. Some lady was just rocking away in the one I wanted so I tested out the others while waiting for her to move. She didn't. So I asked her if she was getting it and she said yes. Pshh. What the heck people!? She did indeed buy it..I watched haha.
But I did score a brand new cover for shopping carts that the kid sits in and doesn't get all germy. I really love it and it was $5 :) It was also in high demand because I put it down not sure if I was going to get it or not and there was another lady that must have been watching me with it because she asked if I was buying it. I fumbled on what to say so I said, "yes". Then I felt bad and so I got it anyways. But at least I really love it and it's super nice. Right?..

A baby kick boxer

Finally! Finally! Finally! Today I had the day off of work so this morning I slept in a little longer than usual. When I got up Emmett was eating his breakfast and getting ready for his day. We have been talking about how hopefully one day soon he will be able to get to feel our little babe move around in my tummy. When we first got an ultra sound they told us some bad news: the placenta lined the front side of my tummy and so we may have a hard time feeling anything. Bummer. But to my surprise I've felt a lot more movement than I thought I would! Of course today, as soon as Emmett was off to work, I sat to eat my cereal and my tummy was jerking all over the place. Whether it was kicking, jabbing or booty shakin', I could feel her moving from the outside! I was so excited I texted Emmett to tell him. I could tell he was excited to come home as soon as work was done because of this conversation we had:

Wifey: "I'm sitting here eating cereal and my tummy is jolting from side to side! It looks so weird!"
Husby Wusby: "Can you feel it from the outside??"
Wifey: "Yes! I can feel it on the outside! :)"
Husby Wusby: "Well I know what we are doing tonight. We should sit at home, eating cereal while I feel your belly :) :)"

Well sure enough we sat at home, ate, and he got to feel our little girl kick around :) Even right now I look like a sitting belly dancer with all her movements.

On a side note: Pregnancy makes you eat strange things. This isn't SO bad though and it tasted really good! Mint chocolate hot cocoa powder sprinkled on top of ice cream. Baby and I were happy about it at least!

Oh baby! The emotional roller coater begins

So today started out nicely but there was a minor bump in the road this afternoon. Emmett and I woke up and lounged around for a good while which we don't get to do very often. Shnuggle time awesomeness. Then my sweet husby made us some pancakes and per my request he made me a chocolate chip mickey mouse pancake. Sadly by this time I was stuffed with regular pancakes soo he had to finish it for me...good thing he has a bottomless pit for a belly! (Though he gains NO weight from everything he eats! Psh.)

We proceeded to go to church; I got a new calling! I'm now on the Relief Society Committee so I get to visit with all the new girls who move in and make new friends! Exciting. While waiting for church to start I made a nice little crown of flowers in the lawn. Good childhood past time right thuurr :)

After church we came home and made some yummy food and then I got on the computer to check emails. No big deal right? Wrongo. I opened an email with the subject, "For Danica."It was from my lovely mother in law and was about how she spoke to the Young Women in church today about temple marriages. She told them my story about getting married in the temple even though I was the only  member of my family so they could not go into the temple with us. Also that my mom and aunt were baptized only 2 months later. I guess all the girls enjoyed the story and were listening intently. After reading this I started crying, no, bawling is more like it. For what reason? I couldn't tell you. Poor Emmett sitting right beside me playing his guitar had no idea what what was going on. I really didn't either and the only real explanation I have for it is..dun dun dun... pregnancy hormones. Blah. And so the emotional roller coaster begins! I had to clean up pretty quick because our friends were coming over to play some games. Good thing they are having a baby any day now so they understood :)

But on the bright side....WE ARE GOING TO CALIFORNIA IN JULY!!! Finally!

Beginnings and stuff

Welcome to the Fletcher's blog! I have recently become a big fan of reading blogs of friends and family and such. Therefore I have decided to start one of our own. I think it's a neat idea to stay connected to others. Especially Mostly for family near and far to keep up with our busy and growing family. Yeah. So we will see how this goes.

First off..

How We Met:

The Mr. Emmett Fletcher and I met at BYU in our singles ward. (Super unique right!? I know.) But really, it's a little cooler than that. I moved into his apartment complex in Sept 2010 after being baptized into the LDS church. I thought he was super cute and I thought he may have thought the same about me until he told me he didn't like when I dyed my hair a TAD darker. Fail. We may have talked a couple times but the first time we 'hung out' was at a football game by total accident, or FATE, if you will. I had two tickets for the front row and decided to ask a new friend who just moved in if he'd like to come with me. He accepted. Clearly not a date. While waiting for the game to start here comes mr. hunk heading right towards us and sits down beside me. But not too awkwardly close. We made small talk for a bit which was nice. Before this I was thinking he was a really quiet guy who never wanted to play any games. Ever. Which sometimes is still the case to this day. Anyways, we chatted until his family and some friends showed up. We still cheered next to each other. Aww. So funny part. I had to get his attention again somehow and I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do. All my ideas I had so thoughtfully come up with were not playing out right in my mind. Soon enough I didn't even have to try. My 'clumsiness at the worst times' kicked into high gear. It was a cold afternoon so we had some little hand warmers. You know the kind you have to shake to get working? Well I had one in my hand and when the BYU Cougars get a first down the stadium all does this little arm gesture with a roar followed by a "COUGAR FIRST DOWN!" holler. Did that. Perfectly in fact that when my arm came back up from behind my head I accidentally let go of my hand warmer and it flew onto the field. Well that sure got his attention and the attention of lots of people around me. I still hear about this incident to this day. In my defense, I did mention it was a cold day and fact is, I just couldn't feel my fingers. I can thank my sister-in-laws bff, Carin and her sister, Sarah for getting us hand warmers for a very humorous and thoughtful wedding gift :)

And a short-ish second off..

Meaning Behind The Name Of This Blog:

While dating, and on occasion still, Emmett and I would like to take mini road trips. Mostly just around town or near by towns. We'd always make an adventure out of it and never planned where we would go, only "south" or "north"..etc. One fine summer's day we set out for a trip. We didn't get too far when we found a little road covered in lush green trees. Perfect road for a hand holding walk. We parked, got out and set foot. Off the side of the road and down a small hill was a humungo open field. It was completely full of dandelions. We happened to have a blanket in the car so we went and grabbed that and set camp. Sort of. Right in the middle of this huge place. The grass and flowers were so tall that when we laid down on the blanket all you saw was grass, flowers and sky. Beautiful. To top it off, it was so quiet, except for when planes would fly in to land at a near by private airport. No complaints. That was pretty cool too. We always made so many wishes each time we went back there. Hence the name we call it, The Wishing Field. We even took some engagement pictures there but unfortunately it was a day someone decided to come by and plow the whole place down. We'll have to go back this summer.
We also have this little quirk about bridges. Every, and I mean every, time we cross a bridge we stop on it and share a kiss. This all started, I think, when we took a walk up to the Provo castle and there is a spot with a creek and a small bridge that crosses over it. We stopped on it and I said to him, "Kissss meeee!" It's become a nice little routine :)
